Big John Butler, who has been called many precious nicknames like, The Bear or The Lord, was my first supervisor when I graduated from Ohio University and moved to Pittsburgh to work as a counselor for Young Life Campaign, a nondenominational Christian youth organization.

John, a sound engineer, retired after 33 years from his positions as Professor and Manager of the Petersen Sound Studio at the Ohio University School of Film in Athens, Ohio.

In honor of this gentle giant, I donated this portrait of the praiseworthy and highly admired John L. Butler in 2020.
